Basking Halogen Lighting

Low voltage halogen lights require less power but still produce good heat and very high light output. Halogen gas maintains tungsten on the bulb filament, whereas it normally ends up on the bulb glass. This extends the bulbs lifespan compared to a regular incandescent bulb. They are usually in a spot lamp style which will direct heat and light downwards in a beam. They can provide beneficial UVA rays but not UVB so most will need to be used with a UVB tube or compact light. All heat sources must be contained in a bulb guard if used inside the vivarium.
