Basking Colour Lighting

Basking Spot lamps emit a level of heat which can help with a heat gradient in your tank and provide visual lighting. They do not generally provide UVB so most will need to be used with a UVB tube or compact light. Basking lights should be placed in a bulb guard to protect your reptile. Coloured bulbs are more for the keepers benefit than that of the reptile, although it is thought that blue and red lights can be less disturbing and desert animals may prefer bright white or yellow lighting.
