Akela kibble is extruded with a Thermal Twin extruder using the lowest temperatures possible; producing more digestible foods without the nutrient degradation that can be seen at high temperature processing. The extrusion and drying processes do not use very high temperatures – just over 90 degrees centigrade (the minimum for safety reasons) and under 180 degrees centigrade - this is lower than you would cook a pizza at! This means that proteins stay highly digestible and natural vitamins and minerals survive the process better. Some ingredients are added after extrusion too - for example all vitamin levels stated in the nutritional additive section are added after cooking to guarantee minimum levels.

Very cost effective if you have a working dog :;)
Minimal amount of debris from the other end, although it tends to attract flies if not collected soon after deposit (Posted on 18 October 2016)
Pros: grain free, very happy pooch, good size kibble, good natural food

changing brands! Had her on all the more expensive 80/20
dog food but still no joy. I came across this dog food a few months
ago and she loves it. Has never once turned her nose up at it!
The big bonus for me is the price(20 pounds cheaper a bag than other 80/20 dog foods). Would recommend anyone with a fussy dog to try this, you won't be dissappointed. Only one small gripe, the new packaging seems to break easily, the old packaging was much more secure. Thanks (Posted on 10 October 2016)

I have recommended this food to everyone i have met relating to my doggy business and they now use it at home.
I have no problem relating to the size of this kibble nor do any of the dogs which range in size from a Yorkie cross, to Cockapoos and everything in between
